PADESTA works to increase professional development opportunities
The PADESTA Executive Board holds regular meetings to communicate, plan future events, and keep our chapter active both locally and nationally. Typically, the fall and winter board meetings take place as conference calls, while the spring and summer meetings take place in person.
Recent activities of the board include:
- Developed regional workshop initiative
- Screening and selecting applicants for ASTA National Solo Competition and ASTA National High School Honors Orchestra
- Engaging Jonas Music Services to update our website in order to be more informative, current, and user friendly
- Finishing the incorporation process, updating our legal status with state and federal agencies, staying current with insurance and other legal issues
- Engaged the Law Offices of Michael Cherewka as our official legal representative
- Developed and co-sponsored Chamber Music Festival
- Allocate funds to support local initiative through mini-grants
- Coordinate and co-sponsor string sessions at PMEA Statewide Inservice, including guests such as Dr. Louis Bergonzi and many of Pennsylvania’s best teachers and presenters.
