Application for 2012 Orchestra Education Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria
The 2012 PADESTA Orchestra Education Scholarship is available to a graduating high school senior who is a resident of Pennsylvania or Delaware. Applicants must be nominated by a PADESTA member in good standing, and the applicant must be accepted to an accredited collegiate program with a declared major in music education (or a dual major including music education). Applicants should be active members of their high school orchestra, or a community or youth orchestra if no school orchestra program exists.

Upon review of all applications, one recipient of the 2012 PADESTA Orchestra Education Scholarship will be awarded $1,000.00 (made payable to the recipient’s college or university).
Past Scholarship Recipients
2011––Brahmii Lagrutta
Brahmii Lagrutta has been playing the cello for nine years. She learned music in the public school setting at Dallastown Areas High School. She studied privately under the direction of David Diehl. She attended summer music camps at Messiah College and also joined the Messiah College Orchestra while in high school. She was also a member Dallastown High School Chamber Ensemble and as a senior served as an orchestra intern and student leader. She was also a member of the York Youth Symphony for three years. In the fall, Brahmii plans to attend Messiah College to major in music education. She will be studying cello as her major performance instrument.
